Linda Rose Ingalls, 76, of Ellsworth, passed away at home on Friday, November 29, 2024. She was born on September 23, 1948, in Charlevoix Michigan, the oldest of 5 siblings, daughter of Henry and Rose (Ross) Klooster.
Linda grew up in Norwood, Michigan, where she attended and graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1968. She married Everett Ingalls on June 1, 1973, at the Charlevoix Reformed Church. They made their home on the family farm between East Jordan and Ellsworth.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Ellsworth, where she taught Sunday school and played the organ for many years. Her love for God never failed, even as her health did. She wore out numerous bibles in her last years, just carrying them around to be sure they were not far away.
Linda enjoyed the animals around the farm, especially her chickens. She was devoted to helping with the harvest from the garden, and loved canning all the bounty of the season.
Her biggest joy came from her family. She couldn’t wait for birthdays, holidays, and for any opportunity to visit with loved ones. She especially loved her children and grandchildren; always eager to babysit the grandkids at a moment’s notice.
Linda is survived by her husband Everett Ingalls, of Ellsworth; three sons, Mitch, Mike, and Matt (Theresa) all of Ellsworth; 3 grandchildren, Annabell, Cody, and Emma; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Gary, Gerald, and Mike Klooster; and sister Shelly Dorland.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, at the Ellsworth Wesleyan Church with Pastor Chris Wallace officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, at the Ellsworth Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
Arrangements are in the care of the Ellsworth Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com
