Lillian Sias

Lillian Ruth Sias, born October 26, 1920, in Kalkaska, died June 21, 2015, at Meadowbrook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. Lillian leaves behind her children Ruth Marie (Jim) Gajeski and Ivan C. Sias (Cathy Harden), many grandchildren great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She married Carl Sias of Mancelona who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her two brothers Ivan Eckler and Harry (Bud) Eckler. Lillian had a strong faith and was active in the Antrim Church of Christ. She had a love of life and believed one should celebrate your birthday all month long. Particular thanks to grandson Terry Sias who picked her up on Tuesdays to get her hair done by her son Ivan at winner's Edge. She became known as the "cookie lady" to Ivan's clients. Thanks to Brenda Griffore who decorated her room for the holidays and changing seasons and to Carla Sue Raudman who loved to take Lillian shopping including every garage sale they saw. Also, a thank you to Penny Darling and Julie Hoag for all the visits from Grand Rapids, and to Samantha Spires Sonnenberg who always brought sunshine into Lillian's life. Last, but most important, thank you to all nurses, aides and caregivers of Meadowbrook who treated Lillian with the utmost respect and love and made Meadowbrook a home she loved. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Antrim Church of Christ. Visitation will be from noon until time of services also at the Church.
