Lila Wilson

Our angel here on earth, Lila Wilson, went to be with the angels in God's Heaven on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Lila was born Sept. 25, 1935 to parents Lillian Kaspar Tabor and Ernest Tabor, and they made their home in Brookfield, IL. She graduated from Lyons Twp High School and College of DuPage. In 1957 she married the love of her life, Jack Wilson, and they raised three children together in Illinois and then Michigan. They bought a weekend home at Shanty Creek in Bellaire and enjoyed many family vacations there. After Jack passed away in 1990, Lila chose to follow their dream and retired there herself, creating a new chapter in Bellaire. She was an active and dedicated volunteer with Good Samaritan, North Country Hospice, Antrim Co. Animal Control shelter, Grass River Natural Area, Church in the Hills, Lioness, CROP, and area schools. Lila loved her family, gardening and her many church, choir, COA, beach and golf friends. She was preceded in death by her dear brother Ernie, and is survived by daughters Sheri Greenhoe (James), Laurie Barnhart (Robert), son Scott Wilson (Liz) and beloved grandchildren Brian (Elizabeth), Daniel, Haylee, Hillary, Andrew and Zachary. A celebration of Lila's life will be held at 4:00 pm Wed., June 6, 2012 at Church in the Hills, Bellaire, MI with Rev. David Ramage and Rev. Duane Ferris officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 3:00 pm at the church, and a dinner will follow the service in the church social hall.
