Leon Young

Leon "Lee" Young 78, of Central Lake, died peacefully Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Orchard Creek Supportive Care in Traverse City.

Lee was born June 19, 1932 in Port Huron, MI the son of Leon and Susan (Martyn) Young. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

On January 11, 1958 in Cincinnati, OH, he married Mary Ellen Pegg. Together, they moved to Central Lake in 1974, from Vandalia, OH. There they owned and operated Young's Party Store for 15 years. Lee was a longtime member of the Central Lake Lions Club and enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by 3 children John (Jennifer) Young of Central Lake, Matthew Young of Lincoln, NE, and Megan Young of Traverse City. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren Elijah, Maurice and Quriosity.

Lee was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his parents and his sister Suzanne Graff.
