Leon Evans

Leon R. Evans, 64, of East Jordan, passed away on August 3, 2019 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

He was born on December 6, 1954 in Flint, MI, the son of Curtis and Mae (Moore) Evans.

Leon always put his family first and they were the most important thing in his life.  He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and was a car enthusiast.

He will always be remembered for his quick wit, unparalleled sense of humor, and his songs.

On October 31, 1980, in Bellaire, he married Barbara J. Miller who survives.  Also surviving are 3 children, Shiloh (Brandon) Watts of Mayville, MI, Leon Jr. (Samantha) Evans of East Jordan, Amanda Evans of Boyne City, MI, 7 granddaughters, Alexis, Elizabeth, and Haylee Evans,  Laura, Katelyn, and Amber Watts as well as  Ambrosia, 3 brothers, Russell Evans of LA, Chuck (Bonnie) Evans of East Jordan,  and Leo Evans also of East Jordan as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and close family friends

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Mary Ann Miller-Evans, nephews, Jimmy Czarnecki, Robert Miller and nieces, Charlena Schriever, Candy Shelton and Penny Sue Smith, in laws, Hazel Miller-Mauer, Bob Miller, brother-in-law Tony Miller and uncle Howard Evans.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 9th at 2 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with visitation from 12 noon until time of services.
