Leo "Bruce" Lacy Sr.

Leo “Bruce” Lacy Sr. of Bellaire passed away August 18, 2018 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.  He was born February 20, 1934 to Loren and Mary (Goudy) Lacy.

Bruce was a hard worker and dedicated civil servant.  He joined the Boy Scouts of America in 1945 and was very active in all aspects until 1973.  Bruce served in the U.S. Air Force and was Village Council President.  He owned and operated the Olds Ambulance Service for 15 years and retired from the Antrim County Police Department after 32 years.  Bruce worked at Lamina Bronze and most recently drove for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for the last 15 years.

Preceding him in death are his parents Loren and Mary Lacy, siblings Albert, Francis, William, Roger, Paul, and Delores and his wife Cam Lacy.  He is survived by his brother Patrick (Barbara) Lacy, ex-wife and special friend Virginia (Marshall) Lacy, children Allen (Brenda) Lacy, Timothy Lacy, Tamara Lacy, Steven (Jan Clark) Lacy, Richard (Beth) Lacy, and Leo Bruce (Becca) Lacy Jr.  Also surviving are stepchildren Erik (Brooke) Bates, Bill (Patricia) Drollinger, Kim Cannon, many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

At Bruce’s request there will be no funeral or service.  His request was to be cremated and remains scattered at the family hunting cabin in the Northern Michigan Peninsula.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 15 from Noon to 3 p.m. at the Commission on Aging in Bellaire.  Memorial contributions can be given to the Bellaire Public Library or charity of choice.
