Lena Churchill

Lena Leota Churchill, 94, of Mancelona, passed away January 6, 2014. Leota was born on November 4, 1919 in Port Huron, Michigan, the daughter of Walter and Ida (Rutherford) McArthur. She and her husband Harold moved to Mancelona in 1953. She was a long time member of the Mancelona Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading and cooking. She is survived by four children, Faye (James) Homan, Ronald (Sandy Kline) Churchill, Richard (Kathryn Ecklund) Churchill and Gary Churchill all of Mancelona. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 2010; sister, Nina Getz in 2006; and a brother, Sheridan McArthur in 2004. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Free Methodist Church. Rev. Gerald Cook will officiate. Visitation will take place at the Church from 1:00 until the time of service. Interment will take place in the spring at Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
