Lawrence Maurer

LAWRENCE P. MAURER, 69 of Central Lake, passed away, Monday, July 9, 2007 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 15, 1937 in Lansing, Michigan to Peter and Velma (Grant) Maurer who preceded him in death. Lawrence moved to Central Lake in 1988. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Central Lake. On December 3, 1988, in Central Lake, he married Hazel Watros who survives. Also surviving are 4 children; Tressa (Rob) Simpson of Charlevoix, Laurie (Jeff) Ferguson of East Jordan, Billie Paz of North Carolina, Larry Maurer of Charlevoix, 7 stepchildren; Susan (Dave) Smith of Bellaire, Paul (Linda) Miller of Kalkaska, Diana Miller of Central Lake, Barbara (Leon) Evans of East Jordan, Linda Organic of Alabama, Jeff (Tammy) Miller of Central Lake and Randy (Lennie) Miller of East Jordan, 2 sisters; Barbara Watros of Big Rapids and Mable (Harley) Rogers of East Jordan, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2007, Two p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Mark Belanger officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 11, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Norhtwest Michigan Community Hospice.
