LaVerne Sheneman

LaVerne C. Sheneman, 95, of Bellaire passed away on July 28, 2019 on her farm in Bellaire.

She was born on January 26, 1924, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Clayton) Delle.

LaVerne was a resident of Bellaire since 1945.  She was an active member of St. Luke Catholic Church and was employed at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility for 42 years.  While at Meadow Brook she was a nurse for some time and eventually went on to become the administrator, a position she held for many years.

LaVerne enjoyed maintaining the history of the St. Luke Catholic Church and working on the Helen Marker Scholarship.

She is survived by 3 children, Susan Sheneman, Thomas Sheneman (Rod Fuller), Michael (Jamie) Sheneman all of Bellaire, 4 grandchildren, Charles (Jackie) Sheneman, Stacey Sheneman,  Daniel Fuller, and Bethany Fuller. Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren, Johna, Ema,Linus VanSice, and Eila and Adelyn Sheneman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles W.Sheneman in 2003, a son Charles W. Sheneman III in 1973, sister Mary Smith, 3 brothers Joe, Bill, and Fred Delle as well as her parents.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire with Fr. Chet Collins officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 and 6-7:30 with a prayer service beginning at 7:30 at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Burial will be private in Fairview Cemetery, Custer Township.
