Larry E. Wilson

Larry E. Wilson, 70 of Bear Lake, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024. He was born January 16, 1954 in Kearney Twp, the son of Gerald and Marjorie (Drake) Wilson.

Larry attended and graduated from Central Lake High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Ferris State University. He taught building trades for many years in Midland, Grayling, and Arizona, where he was a mentor and lasting influence for many young people.

He loved the outdoors and wildlife. He especially loved horses from a young age when he learned to ride and care for them. Larry was an excellent cook and loved to bake for people too. He was a prolific reader from an early age, and really loved and was a student of history.

Surviving are his children Jennifer (Ric) Evans of Ellsworth, Mika (Brandon) Wilson-Everest of Cedar, Joshua (Stephanie) Wilson of Traverse City, two grandsons Ronin and Calvin that he loved deeply and was very proud of, brothers James (Joanne) Wilson, Robert (Rita) Wilson, Jerry (Cathern) Wilson, sisters Shirley Davis, Connie Sutherland, and many nieces and nephews.
