Larry J. Sigulinsky, 77, of Charlevoix previously of Muscatine, Iowa passed away on March 15, 2018 at his home.
Larry was born on February 1, 1941 in Flint to the late John and Elaine (Tippett) Sigulinsky.
Larry proudly served in the United States Marines and lived his life by the Marine code. He showed his pride by wearing either a Marines hat or T-shirt daily. Once a Marine, Always a Marine!
In the early 1960’s he graduated from Pittsburg Institute of Art. He then earned his bachelors of Fine Arts from Eastern Michigan University and continued his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic. Larry stayed in Iowa where he taught academic radiology and did the medical illustrations for the college as well as illustrations for several textbooks until his retirement in 2004.
Larry loved spending his time outdoors especially the countless hours he spent sitting on his dock at the lake house. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, painting, telling stories and visiting with friends.
He was an accomplished wildlife artist and had several paintings published. He was always excited to hear where the people who bought his prints were from and why they picked the print they purchased.
On August 4, 1972 Larry married Judi C. Brooks who survives. He is also survived by his children, Dr. Karina (Ante) Skorput, Zachary (Amanda) Sigulinsky, Devin Sigulinsky, Ryan (Jasmine Davis) Sigulinsky, grandchildren, Tanner Sigulinsky, Matthew and Isabella Skorput, best friend, Walt Weber and his two cousins who were like brothers to him, Jim and Bob Procunier.
Private family services are being held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to purchase trees to be planted in his memory.
