Lawrence Frederick Ager, age 67 of Central Lake went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 12, 2007 at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on December 19, 1939 in East Jordan the son of Charles Edwin and Helene (Burbank) Ager. He grew up in the Charlevoix area and graduated from TL Handy in Bay City. On September 6, 1975 in Auburn he married Mary Galbraith.
Larry owned and operated Ager Heating and Cooling for many years before he retired in 1999. He then went to work for Antrim County Transportation until his health prevented him from working. Larry enjoyed scuba diving, archery hunting, fishing and spending time on his boat, the Patriot. Over the past year he spent time putting together jig-saw puzzles and became an avid reader. One of his highlight moments was when he traveled to Germany and stood on the Alps with his wife Mary.
Larry is survived by his wife Mary; children Vickie (Terry) Jenkins, Rebecca (Alan) Spesard, Jeff (Alleen) Ager, Sarah Thier, Carrie (Kevin) Arietta, Todd (Trisha) Ager and Jodi (Jim) O'Neal; grand children Kyle, Tyler, Cameron, Jenna, Stacie, Brian, David, Zacharey, Christopher, Garrett, Jacob, Brayton, Brianna, Brandy and Amber; one great granddaughter Michelle; mother Helene (Sherman) Thomas; brothers and sisters Charles (Nancy) Ager, Sherry Czwerinski, Rick (Katie) Ager and Phillip Burns; and many nieces and nephews.
"He was very patient and sacrificial. He taught us how to love; how to work without complaint. We are very grateful for having been a part of your life and will miss you."
He is preceded in death by his father Charles Edwin and infant brothers David and Jackie.
Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Mortensen Funeral Homes in Central Lake.
A funeral service will be held 11:00am Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the Bible Baptist Church in Central Lake. Pastor Russell Tharpe will be officiating.
Burial will take place at Southern Cemetery in Central Lake.
