Krista Johnson Mose

Krista Marie (Johnson) Mose of Gaylord passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Otsego Memorial Hospital on the morning of October 22, 2019.  Krista was born December 26, 1975 in Gaylord, MI, the daughter of George (Tom) and Jenni (Mongeau) Johnson.

Loving, outgoing and dedicated are only a few words that describe who Krista was.  After graduating from Gaylord High School in 1994, she earned her nursing degree and worked for many years as a dialysis nurse in Grand Rapids, Midland and Gaylord.  Upon her return to northern Michigan, she worked at the Lewiston Walk in Clinic and most recently she was part of the team at Internal Medicine, for Dr. Mazur.

Krista was an amazing mother to her daughter.  She loved to hunt, fish and go on adventures with the love of her life, Karl.  Her passion for country music could be heard from miles away, she enjoyed attending concerts and dancing like no one was watching.

She is survived by her best friend and daughter, Malia; fiancé, Karl Kotimaki; parents Tom and Jenni Johnson; brother, Luke (Sara) Johnson; sister Tori (Aaron) Zbytowski; Grandma, Dar Mongeau; nephews Cody, Hunter, Gage, Elijah, Aiden, Zander, Finn, and Benjamin; nieces Nora and Bethany; the honor of being called ‘grandma’ by Martin, the grandchild of her fiancé; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.  She is preceded in death by brother Benjamin Johnson; Grandparents, James Mongeau, Betty (Cota) and Edwin Johnson; aunt and uncle, James (Jim) and Roxanne Johnson, and previous mother-in-law Deb Mose.

The family would like to thank the outstanding staff of OMH that loved and cared for Krista not only as a patient, but as a co-worker and friend.

Please join us as we celebrate Krista’s life and honor her legacy on Sunday, November 3, at Charlton Township Hall in Johannesburg from 12-4.  We will be wearing Krista’s favorite color purple or pattern of camouflage, feel free to join us in doing so as well.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations go toward a college fund for Malia.
