Kenneth Vance Watson, 90, of Central Lake went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2017 at his home.

Kenneth was born on September 30, 1927 in Central Lake Township, the son of the late Robert and Nettie (Vance) Watson. He was a devoted member of the Eastport Baptist Church and was the music director for many years. He was employed by DME Corporation in Charlevoix and retired in 1990. He enjoyed being a host at his home, hunting, fishing and watching Tigers baseball. He served in the Army Air Corps in the occupation of Japan in 1946.

Kenneth is survived by his five children, Jerolyn (Dennis) Aenis of Central Lake, Graydon (Rosemary) Watson of Indianapolis, IN, Julie (Ron) Smith of Kewadin, Patti (Rick) Newman of Cookeville, TN, Dale (Sherry) Watson of Charlotte, NC, sister, Doris Danielson of Central Lake, 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

On September 1, 1950 in Eastport, he married Jacqueline Arnold who preceded him in death on April 22, 2010. He was also preceded in death by parents, son-in-law, Gerald Klooster, 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eastport Baptist Church, with Pastor Jerry Troyer officiating with military honors. Interment will follow at Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Twp. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
