Keith Fischer

Keith H. Fischer, 91, of Bellaire, passed away on March 16, 2021 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Keith was born on January 1, 1930, in Bellaire, the son of Herman and Ruth (Armstrong) Fischer.

He was a Bellaire resident most of his life, and for many years he was a member of the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church. Keith worked at the C & O Railway in Port Huron for several years before he and his wife Joan opened the Fischer Insurance Agency in Peck, Michigan.  They then moved the agency to Bellaire.

In his spare time, Keith enjoyed making bird houses, attending his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, keeping track of the Fischer genealogy and spending time with his family. He also loved hunting, fishing and watching the Detroit Tigers. He was always very sentimental and very proud of his family and their accomplishments.

On September 4, 1950, in Bellaire, he married Joan (Lessard) Fischer. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, his parents, a brother, Alden Fischer and a sister, Yvonne Fischer. He is survived by 3 sons, David Fischer (Deborah Kendregan), Timothy (Janet) Fischer, Joseph (Tammy) Fischer all of Bellaire, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Phillips officiating for both Keith and Joan.
