Kathlene Carter

Kathlene E. Carter, age 64 of Mancelona passed away on August 20, 2017 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

Kathlene was born on July 4, 1953 in Charlevoix to the late Otto and Ellen (Moore) Merritt. She enjoyed working for many years at Dura until the factory closed. Kathlene loved spending time with her children and grandchildren especially during the holidays. She enjoyed going shopping always looking for that good deal!

On March 6, 1971 Kathlene married David L. Carter who survives. Also surviving are children, Julie (Ray) Steffen of Kalkaska, Denise (James) Parker of Kalkaska, Angela Carter of Mancelona, grandchildren, Delbert “D.J.” Carter, Samantha, Corina and Tanner Parker, Zachary and Alexander Watson, Wesley Hosking, sisters, Darlene (Harold) Magee of Boyne City, Karlene Thornton Kreger of Prescott, and Arlene (Reed) Beal of East Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepdad, John Hejhal, brothers, Fred Lively, Robert Lively, Thomas Merritt, David Peoples and sister, Marlene Hammond.

A memorial dinner will be held Wed. Aug. 30, 2017 from 3 to 9 pm at C.E.T.A. Hall, 6615 County Road 612 NE, Kalkaska.

Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
