Kathleen James

Kathleen Ann James 48, a lifelong resident of Central Lake, died suddenly, Tues. Dec. 15, 2015 at Charlevoix Area Hospital. She was born Apr. 12, 1967 in Petoskey the daughter of Ward and Jeanne (Friend) Cary and was a 1985 graduate of Central Lake High School. Kathy loved her children dearly. She spent all her time with them; they were the light of her life. She also enjoyed spending time in the kitchen baking and cooking for her many friends and family members. Kathy enjoyed being outside in her flower garden and was an avid Detroit Tiger Fan. On Aug. 17, 1990, Kathy married Charles James, who survives. Also surviving are her twin children Michael and Molly James at home, her loving mother Jeanne Cary of Central Lake, brother Bill (Dawn) Cary of Oxford, FL, sister Jill (Greg) Send of Williamsburg, sister in laws Sandy Cary of Central Lake, Kim Hazel of East Jordan, Helen (Howard) Potter of Manton, Shelly (Ken) Frashier of Kalkaska, and many nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her father Ward Cary, brother Scott Cary, mother in law Sue Ann Carey, her grandparents and aunt Marilyn Proctor. Funeral services will be held Sat. Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Tim Manzer officiating. Interment will follow at Southern Cemetery. The family will receive friends Fri. Dec. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. also at the funeral home. A Memorial Fund as been set up for Molly and Michael.
