Kathleen Colombo

Bellaire, MI. - Kathleen "Kathy" Mary Colombo, age 55, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 10, 2016 at Meadowbrook Medical Care Facility. Kathy was born at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit in 1960 and was the youngest daughter of Joseph L. Colombo and Geraldine Colombo. Kathy grew up in Royal Oak, MI and graduated from Dondero High School in 1978. Kathy enjoyed working at New Horizon's, Madison Heights along with figure skating in the Birmingham FAR Conservatory with her sister, Carol. Kathy's team won numerous awards while skating.

As a child Kathy enjoyed ice skating on the backyard rink with her sister and six brothers, swimming, riding her bicycle and going on family vacations. Her parents always kept her involved with her friends and many family activities. After retiring from New Horizon's in 1988 Kathy moved to Bellaire with her Dad and Mom. Kathy was the #1 Red Wings fan and rarely missed a game on television. She was often treated to a home made pizza brother Jim would make and deliver for a special game

Kathy is survived by her father, Joseph L. and mother, Geraldine ( Nowak ) Colombo (Bellaire), sister-in-law Pam (brother Joe deceased) of Auburn Hills, brother Jim (Therry) of Bellaire, brother Dan (sister-in-law Connie deceased) of White Lake, brother Paul of San Diego, brother David of San Diego, sister Carol (Mike) Lessard of Yoder, Wyoming and brother John (Nanci) of Chubbuck, Idaho as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kathy, "In our Hearts you hold a place no one else will ever fill." There is no service planned and arrangements have been handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortenson Funeral Home. At a future date a private family burial will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathy's memory to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry, 9746 Main Street, Ellsworth, Michigan, 49729.
