Katheryn Willson

Katheryn M. Willson, 88 of Central Lake, died peacefully Wed. Feb. 2, 2011 at home. She was born June 17, 1922 in Central Lake Twp., the daughter of James and Flossie (Edson) Drake. Kate was a lifelong resident of Central Lake. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and reading. On Nov. 15, 1941 she married Edmund "Hap" Willson who preceded her in death in 1996. Kate was also preceded in death by 2 daughters Vicki Willson in 1974 and Patricia LaBeau in 1992, 3 brothers Roger, Gerald and Eldon Drake, 2 sisters Virginia Lessard, Vivian Oberpeul, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Virginia (Rick) Rusnell of Central Lake, sister Marjorie Wilson of Central Lake, 4 grandchildren Mike LaBeau of Central Lake, Chris Hoose of FL, Brenda (Jorge) Calvachi of Walnut Creek, CA, Denise (Eric) Cline of Traverse City, and 5 great-grandchildren Robert Hoose, Ethan & Jared Cline, Capriana & Carson Calvachi and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 6, at 3 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Richard McWatters officiating. The family will receive friends Sat. Feb. 5 from 6 to 8 pm and Sun. from 1pm until the time of service all at the funeral home. Interment will be in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake.
