In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 29, Karleen “Sue” Walden, 69 of Alden, gained her angel wings.
Sue was born on June 5, 1948 in Saginaw to the union of Carl William and Leona Nellie (Watz) Oelfke.
Sue leaves behind many beautiful qualities that we will all cherish. She loved her fabric enjoying the creativity of a gift for someone she loved. She had a sense of humor that we will remember with fondness. She loved to talk to everybody whether a familiar or a new face.
Sue enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren. Sue will always be known as a collector of Barbie’s, turquoise dishes, bunny figurines, books and puzzles. She loved to tinker in her flower garden, enjoy a glass of ice tea while she over looked the waters of Torch Lake or go looking for the next pretty pink rock. Looking out her sewing room window to count at least 3 different critters brought her much joy and peace. Sue loved the Detroit Tigers and Nascar.
Sue worked for Meadowbrook Medical Care Facility for over 30 years.
On October 14, 1995 she married Vernal Walden who survives. She is also survived by her five children.
