Karl J. Knauf, 88, of Bellaire, left his earthly home and went to heaven on January 26, 2023, at Medilodge of Gaylord.
He was born on August 31, 1934, in Pontiac, MI, the son of Roy and Thelma (Mosteller) Knauf.
His faith and church were very important to him. He was a member of the Central Lake Bible Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Surviving are his son, Konrad Knauf of Bellaire; 5 grandchildren, Lisa, Kaleb, Arlo, Elke and Inigo Knauf. Also surviving are a great-grandson Noah Slayback, 3 brothers; Tom (Wanda), Robert (Sonja), Richard (Pamela) Knauf as well as nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents Roy and Thelma (Mosteller) Knauf.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
Funeral services will be on Friday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Russell Tharp officiating.
Burial with military honors will take place Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Lake Bible Baptist Church, 1040 N. M-88, Central Lake, MI, 49622.
Arrangements are in the care of the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
