Karen Vedder

Karen A. Vedder, 66, of Mancelona, passed away Monday, January 10, 2011 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Karen was born on December 27, 1944 in Tecumseh, MI., the daughter of Carlton and Edna Burkhardt. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert Vedder; three daughters, Brenda (Curt) Harwood of Petoskey, Kristin (Jim) Vedder-Clark of Stockbridge, and Diane Sandoval of Ypsilanti; eight grandchildren, Nolan, Conner, Forrest, Shuyler, Ashley, Amber, Christina and Luis; and one brother, Ronald Burkhardt of Manchester. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Vedder; and brother, Gary Burkhardt. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Mancelona with Rev. Donald Ritter officiating.
