Karen M. Pruitt, 77, of Central Lake died June 2, 2018 in Traverse City.
She was born April 18, 1941 in Central Lake to Joseph Franklin and Sarah Ellen (Boyer) Barraw.
On March 14, 1969 she married Larry Pruitt in Central Lake. They lived in Gaylord, Michigan and Aurora, Colorado before moving to Central Lake in 2010.
Karen worked for Aurora Public Schools in Colorado and was a member of the Church of Christ in Aurora. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, canning, baking and spending time with her many grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband Larry; children Joseph (Theresa) Barraw of Gaylord, Cindy Turpin of Chandler, AZ, Annette Sharpe of Eloy, AZ, Alrik Oslund of Petoskey, Larry Pruitt Jr. of Mesa, AZ; sister Beverly (Keith) Mort of Jesup, GA, and brother Harold (Fay) Barraw of East Jordan; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Irene McConnell and brothers Charles Barraw, Robert Barraw, Kenneth Barraw, Howard Barraw, one grandson Joseph Barraw Jr. and one great-grandchild Zachary Dunham.
The visitation will be at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth on Monday, June 4, from 4 to 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Hastings Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew French officiating. Burial will be in Ellsworth Cemetery.
