Karen I. Campbell, 72, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born February 4, 1943, on Beaver Island to Willard H. and Mary E. (Boyle) Pischner. She graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1961. On December 28, 1962, she married Gabriel M. Campbell at Saint Mary's Church in Charlevoix. Karen was a very active member at Saint Mary's School and Church. She served as the 2nd Ward Councilwoman for the Charlevoix City Council. Karen loved Irish and Country music, and really loved her family and friends. She loved to travel, or as she put it, "go trotting". Karen had fond memories of working at Cross Fisheries and Boyne Mountain. Karen is survived by her husband, Gabe; children, Erin (Gerry) Thompson, Kathleen (John) Powers, Jamie (Andy) Monteith, Kevin (Tina Hahn) Campbell; grandchildren, Megan and Bradley Thompson; Joshua, Alex and Daniel Powers; Gabe and Max Monteith; Rocky and Nova Campbell; brother, David (Mary DeVogel) Pischner; five nieces; two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Billy (Helga Fischer) Pischner. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, April 29, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Mass will be 11 am, Thursday, April 30, at Saint Mary's Church in Charlevoix, The Reverend Matthew Furgiuele will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Charlevoix. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Mary's School.
