June Berglund

June M. Berglund, 87, of Mancelona passed away March 12, 2014 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. June was born on May 22, 1926 in Fowlerville to Don and Hazel Johnson. She graduated from Howell High School in 1945. She worked at a dentist office and then was a seamstress in Howell. She married Harold Berglund in 1946 and moved to Fowlerville for eleven years. In 1957 they moved to Alma where June did sewing at Martin Mens Store. She loved to sew for others and herself. She also attended the Lutheran Church. In 1988 they moved to Mancelona. They were always going places and enjoyed camping in the trailer. They attended St. Matthews Lutheran Church for many years.June is survived by her loving husband, Harold; three children, Ernie (Karen) Linda Berglund, Linda Ortiz and Eric (Beth) Berglund; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Hodges; brother, Ralph Johnson and grandson, Paul Ortiz.Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Deacon Jack Mosher III will officiate. Visitation will be on Monday from 12 p.m. until the time of services. The burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Fowlerville on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. The Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes is handling the arrangements.
