Joyce E. Tessmer

Joyce E. Tessmer, 89 of Bellaire and formerly of Central Lake, passed away on October 14, 2023 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.  She was born April 29, 1934 in Sault Ste. Marie, the daughter of Sedjwick and Blanche (Secord) Comstock.

   Joyce was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family.  Once her children became school aged, for several years she worked outside the home at Texas Instruments.  She always showed her support going to the various events her children and grandchildren participated in.

   On September 22, 1951, in Detroit she married Richard Tessmer who preceded her in death.  Also preceding her in death are her parents and 13 siblings.

   She is survived by her children Peggy Mackin of East Jordan, Richard Tessmer Jr. of Central Lake, Kathy Bates of East Jordan, Ruth (Ray Alward) Tessmer of East Jordan, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, sister in-law Marion Babcock and many nieces and nephews.

   A Celebration of Life will be announced in the future.  Memorial contributions can be given to Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.
