Joy Moglovkin

Joy Louise Moglovkin, 86, of Alden, passed away on Thursday March 19, 2020 at South Torch Assisted Living with her family by her side.  She was born on May 9, 1933 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of James and Ruth (Sweder) Bagnall.

Joy has been an Alden resident for 42 years.  She and her husband Eugene “Chef Geno” founded the Alden Mill House as they began planting roots in this community.

Joy was known and loved by so many….  Some knew her as a strong business woman in Alden’s DABA, others knew her as their friend, sister and mother.  No matter what your relationship, you knew her to be very determined with a heart of gold.

In Joy’s later years, she enjoyed many adventures as she traveled across the world.  She spent time with her grandchildren and lived her life to its fullest.

Joy is survived by her four children, Thomas (Sarah) Moglovkin of Harbor Springs, Colleen Moglovkin of Alden, Susie Moglovkin (Rob Guy) of Alden, and Carolyn Rummel of Sarasota, FL; her brother, Fred Bagnall; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Eugene Moglovkin; her parents, Hans and Ruth Lange; her father, James Bagnall; her brother, Ed Bagnall; and her uncle, Roy Vineleaf.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday May 22nd, at Clearwater Township Cemetery in Rapid City.  Following the burial, a time for fellowship will be held at Joy's home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan, 10850 E. Traverse Highway, Traverse City, MI 49684.

Arrangements are in the care of the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Please sign her online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com
