Josephine Konsky

Josephine L. Konsky, 93, of Elmira, passed away on September 30, 2017 at home with her family.  She was born March 13, 1924, in Detroit the daughter of the late Vincent and Giovannina Nova.  On April 19, 1947 she married the love of her life, Stanley J. Konsky.  She was a faithful and devoted wife.

Josephine worked for the Veterans Administration during WWII supporting the war effort like so many other dedicated Americans. She also enjoyed working at J.L. Hudsons where she retired after 25 years of wonderful service.  Upon retirement in 1986, they moved north from Harper Woods to build their new home in Lakes of the North.  Josephine was kind hearted, caring, and very generous.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family, especially during the holidays.  She also enjoyed oil painting, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and playing her piano.

Surviving are her daughters Kathleen (Dennis) Leysen of Lakes of the North, Elmira, Nancy Konsky of Chelsea, grandchildren Michael Leysen, Amy (Thom) Deakin, Kristen Vermeylen, Gretchen (Chad) Brown, Matt Vermeylen, Lee Konsky, and seven great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley in 2012, her sister Mary, and her brother John.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 21, 3:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
