Joseph Shippy

Joseph W. Shippy,  82, a lifelong resident of Bellaire, passed away at his home Thursday, September 3, 2020 from pancreatic cancer with his wife and caregiver Barbara (Grove) Shippy, his step-daughter Sheresse Waffle and his dog Samson by his side.

Joe and Barb enjoyed the last 40 years together in Kearney Twp, Bellaire.

He was born May 29, 1938 to the late Stephen Harold Shippy and Fern Louise (Steiner) Shippy.

After Joe graduated from Bellaire High School in 1956 he was employed by Lamina Bronze, Bellaire for 40 years.  He retired in 2000 from a supervisor position.

Joe was preceded in death by his siblings John, Sept. 1, 1992 and Nancy, April 23, 2020.

Interment has taken place in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.

A graveside service was held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Dave McCarthy assisted by step-son-in-law Randy Waffle.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mancelona Baptist Church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
