Joseph L. Johnson, 73, of Central Lake, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Citrus Memorial Hospital with his wife, Bonnie, at his side. Joe was born November 4, 1937 in Detroit, to Lyle and Francis (Gasperut) Johnson. On April 17, 1981 in Warren, he married Lavona ("Bonnie", his second wife) and after a full career in the Tool and Die trade they retired and moved to Central Lake with a winter home in Homosassa Springs, FL, where bowling, fishing, boating and his sign business became his past-times. Joe was a wonder provider, a loving man, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He made his family a priority and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his children; Joseph (Bessie) Johnson, Michael (Cheri) Johnson, James Johnson, William (Vicki) Johnson, Robert (Martha) Johnson, and Edmund (Lisa) Johnson, by Bonnie's children; Debra Eisenmann, Tina (Scott) Sundelius, and Kimberly (Steve) Rollins, by half sister Veronica Trepepia, 28 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Edmund and Raymond Johnson, and grand-daughter Sadie Rollins. Funeral services will be held Sat. Nov. 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Central Lake Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Tharp officiating. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery. The family will receive friends Fri.
