Johnny Lockard

Johnny Lockard,  85, of Mancelona, passed away on November 9, 2020 at Munson Medical Center.

He was born on January 5, 1935, in Oakdale, KY, the son of James and Sally (Morris) Lockard.

He was a Mancelona resident for the past 46 years and prior to that lived in South Lyon, MI for 20 years.  Johnny was a member of the Antrim Church of Christ in Mancelona and loved spending time with his family.  He loved many college sports as well as fishing, hunting, gardening, reading, traveling and his animals.

On April 26, 1955, in South Lyon, MI, he married Mary K. Nettles who survives.  Also surviving are 6 children, Debra (Dwight) Leeth of Mancelona, Johnny Alan Lockard of Sand Springs, OK, Kathy (Dave) McInnis of Sand Springs, OK, Delores (Joe) Orman of Big Piney, WY, James Lockard of Mancelona, Mark (Theresa) Lockard of Monroe, GA, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren,  and a sister-in-law Ella Nadine Dowdy of Mancelona.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Funeral services will be on Friday, November 13 at 3:30 p.m. at the Antrim Church of Christ in Mancelona with Pastor Mark McCool officiating.
