John Underwood

John William Underwood, 75, of Alba passed away May 2, 2014 at his home. He was born February 14, 1939 in Alba, the son of Clifford and Gladys (Goodwill) Underwood. In 2001, John retired from East Jordan Iron Works after 30 plus years of service. He was a great man and father. He enjoyed hunting and being with family. His greatest pride and joy was his children and grandchildren. On July 30, 1960 in Mancelona, he married Doris Musser who survives. Also surviving are his children, Linda McWilliams of Rockland, ME, Deborah Daniels of Puyallup, WA, Donna Hoot of Alba, Charles Underwood of Alba, and Jeremiah Underwood of Windham, ME; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Clifford, Mildred, Louis, Darlene, Judy and David. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son James. The family will remember him privately. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes is handling the arrangements.
