John Stopa

Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals for John Stopa, 83 of Kewadin, who died Sat. Apr. 27, 2013, will be celebrated on Fri. May 3, at noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 143 Charles St., Elk Rapids, with visitation from 11 am until the time of service. A luncheon will follow. In Lieu of flowers, and in keeping with John's wishes donations in John & Christine Stopa's name be made to The Historical Elk Rapids Town Hall is in need of new chairs. Donation Envelopes for this cause will be provided at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Dad we love and miss you! You were an amazing man who always made time for others especially his family. You always had a kind word to say and and knew how to make others laugh and feel comfortable in any situation. Nothing was too much trouble for you and you were always going out of your way for others. You were the most selfless man we knew. We will miss our daily talks, walks, and working on projects together. Our hearts are breaking without you but we feel you with us and see you in everything around us like the garden you helped us plant and in the rooms you helped us build. We feel your loving arms around us. You were loved by so many people and made such a positive impact on others. You died doing what you loved, working in your beautiful yard on a lovely spring day while thinking about Mom. Now you both can be together and feel no more sadness. We feel your joy. We miss you so very much!
