John Melzer

John N. Melzer, 62, of Central Lake Township, passed away on March 14, 2017 at his home. John was born on August 3, 1954 in Cadillac, MI, the son of Gloria Melzer. John enjoyed playing cards, especially poker, euchre and cribbage. He was a guy who was always there to help someone in need. John is survived by two daughters, Lori Ann Melzer (Feidling) of Elk Rapids, Dawn (Franke) and Eric Tolar of Allendale, MI, 2 granddaughters, Audrey Davis and Mila Feidling and twin grandsons Robert and Alex Davis. He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Moon of Alden, Donna (Kevin) Kirkpatrick of East Jordan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, a brother Eugene Beardsley and a sister Merlinna Parker. A small family gathering will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2017. Place and time for the gathering is yet to be determined. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
