John Henton

JOHN E. HENTON, 66, OF Knoxville, TN., and Bellaire, MI., died on July 22, 2010 in Traverse City, MI. He was born on April 23, 1944 the son of Charles and Lorraine (Wells) Henton. John was a Professor of Veterinary Medicine from 1978 until presently at the University of Tennessee. He was Chairman of the AVMA for 3 years. John enjoyed putting on tailgate parties for UT home football games and also enjoyed cooking and working in his rose garden. He was a long time resident of Knoxville and was a summer resident of Bellaire. On June 18, 1966 in Lansing, MI., he married Cathryn Brake who survives. Also surviving is a brother Frank (Stella) Henton of Kalamazoo, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial gathering will take place on Thur., July 29 from 4-6 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. A memorial service will also be held at a later date in Knoxville.
