John Ciofani Sr

John David Ciofani Sr., 70 of Mancelona died Thurs. Feb. 25, 2016 at Munson Medical Center. He was born June 4, 1945 in Baltimore, MD the son of Vincent and Margaret (Wellsworth) Ciofani. He joined the US Marines- and was honorably discharged. John lived in Northern Michigan for most of his life and worked at Antrim Machine for 26 years. He loved baseball and was an avid sports card collector. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved yorkies, always buying them special toys. On Nov. 14, 2015 in Boyne City, he married his long time love of 26 years, Sherry Fales who survives. Also surviving is his mother Margaret, his children Vincent (Lisa) ciofani, Johnna (Larry) Phillips, Johnny Ciofani Jr., Joseph Ciofani, Jackie (Eric) Calhoun, sister Florence (George) Stroyan, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, stepchildren Marcie (Dan) Downs, Terry (Christine) Cryderman, and 8 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Vincent. Funeral services will be held Sun. Feb. 28, at 3 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Paul Wise and Pastor Ross Corne officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the time of service.
