Jerome King Sr.

Jerome P. King, Sr,  55, of Benzie County, passed away on December 13, 2017.

Jerome was born in Traverse City on November 25, 1962.

He was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians where he served as an elder.

He is survived by three children, Margaret (Jose) Rodriguez of Traverse City, Joshua King and his companion Calleen Floyd of Lake Leelanau, Jerome King Jr of Benzonia as well as 10 grandchildren, Diondre King,Tony Urrutia, Juan Urrutia, MariAnna King, Isabella King, Guadalupe Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, Desirea King, Eliza King, Irene King, and 3 great-grandchildren, Aiyana, Shayleia and Awenasa King.

Visitation will begin on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 7300 Niibin Mikun, Benzonia, MI, and will continue until Monday morning of December 18.  On Monday, he will be transported to the Kewadin Indian Mission Church for  visitation prior to funeral services which will begin at 2:00 p.m. with burial following in the Church Cemetery.   Immediately following burial there will be a luncheon at the Fellowship Hall next to the church tabernacle and all are welcome to attend.  Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Online guestbook www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
