Jennette Berendiena Drenth peacefully passed away at Munson Medical Center on December 14, 2013. She was born in Coopersville, MI on March 16, 1923 to John and Dena (Winter) TerAvest. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John, sister Hermina, her husband Henry and oldest son David.
Jennette's family moved from Coopersville to East Jordan, MI in 1936. She was a graduate of East Jordan High School, class of 1939. Jennette married her husband Henry Drenth on June 19, 1942. They enjoyed 64 years together until Henry's passing early in 2007. Henry and Jennette were residents of East Jordan until 1989 when they moved to Traverse City. Jennette enjoyed being a homemaker and loved cooking, sewing, quilting and a variety of needlework. She was a member of Faith Reformed Church. Her greatest blessing was being with her family and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Thomas (Carol) Drenth of Lowell, MI, daughter Janet (John) Noye of Traverse City, daughter-in-law Donna Drenth of East Jordan, MI, grandchildren Amy (Ryan) Hasapis, Heidi (Chris) Rodgers, Todd Drenth, Cori (Ryan) Curtis, Chad (Kelli) Drenth, and great-grandchildren Caleb, Alex, Jacob, Maxwell and Hannah. Also surviving are her sister Evadiena Meeter, sister-in-law, Jean Drenth, brother-in-law Andrew Klooster and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of French Manor Senior Living for the care and kindness shown to Jennette during the past three years. Thanks also are extended to Munson Hospice and the staff of the Webber Heart Unit at Munson Medical Center for their excellent care of Jennette and her family during the final week of her life.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 16 at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth from 5 to 8 PM and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at Ellsworth Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, December 17 at 11 AM. Visit our website at "hastingsfuneral.com" and sign our guestbook.
