Jeannine Inez Powers

Jeannine I. Powers, 86, of Ellsworth, went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2022 at Charlevoix Area Hospital. She was born October 4, 1935 in Detroit the daughter of Russell and Mildred (Blake) Miller.

Jeannine was a kind and generous woman. She was an avid supporter of many veteran organizations especially the Wounded Warriors and Paralyzed Veterans of America. In her free time she enjoyed fishing, writing poetry, and playing word games, especially Scrabble. Jeannine loved her family and animals dearly. For most of her life she worked as a waitress and as a wonderful baker too.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Patty Wendt of Battle Creek, Sandy (Tom) Van Stedum of Ellsworth, Rusty (Brenda) Powers of Ellsworth, grandchildren Adam Van Stedum, R.J. (Angie) Powers, Joshua Powers, great grandchildren Eden, Violet, and Max. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Powers, grandson Gregory Van Stedum, her parents, son in law Lloyd Wendt, 2 brothers Raymond Miller and Russell Miller.

A private Graveside Service was held at Ellsowrth Cemetery in Banks Township. 

Memorial contributions can be given to the Wounded Warriors or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
