Jeanne Goodrich

Jeanne-Marie (Addington) Goodrich, 88, of South Arm Township slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, surrounded by her family.

Jeanne was born October 9, 1927 in Detroit to Thelma and Cecil Addington, the fourth of six children.

She married Donald Goodrich Feb. 5, 1954 in Detroit where they made their home. They moved to South Arm Township in 1993.

Jeanne loved music. She had a lovely soprano voice and sang in choirs in Detroit. After moving to South Arm Township she joined Charlevoix Community Chorale.

Surviving are her children, Merrie Goodrich, Evelyn (Don) Snyder, Laura Doland, Donald (Mary) Goodrich; son-in-law Terry Moblo; 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; long-time dear friend Elizabeth Humphrey, and sister Ellen Addington. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, her husband Donald, and three daughters, Sarah Brusse, Elaine Devore and Jeanne Ellen Moblo.

Jeanne's family wishes to express its deep gratitude to the Grandvue Horizon CNA's and nurses for their tender loving care, making Jeanne's last years full of joy and happy interactions with members of the staff.

Visitation will be Sunday at Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2016 at East Jordan Community Church with Pastor Jason Richey officiating. Burial will be in Ellsworth Cemetery.
