Jayne Ann Tilley

Jayne Ann Tilley 80 of Rapid City, died peacefully surrounded by her family, Monday, February 27, 2023, at home.  She was born July 9, 1942 in Traverse City the daughter of William and Mildred (McLain) Cole.

   In her younger years she bicycled, snowmobiled, and cross country skied with friends.  She enjoyed crafting, sewing, quilling and cross stitch too.  She loved to play games including doing jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and playing cards.  She was a bunko club member and enjoyed that group of friends and playing until covid put an end to that.  She also took great pride in being part of the class reunion planning.  She truly enjoyed keeping up with her classmates and preparing for their next class reunion.  She liked being outside and enjoyed bonfires with her friends.   

   Jayne also enjoyed sunbathing and many beach trips with her kids and grandkids.  She had many dear friends and she cherished these friendships, including a special 75 year friendship with Brenda Tomlin going back to kindergarten. 

   Jayne was a very loving wife to Larry and they just celebrated their 60^th anniversary on February 16^th!  Her family was her greatest joy and she will be missed deeply by those she leaves behind including her boys she loved so much; Timothy (Yvonne), Cory (Marguerite), grandchildren Timothy, Michael (Allison), Cassie, Austin, Maggie Mae, great grandchildren Timothy, Atticus, Emmalee, Bentley, Zane, Samuel, Dean, brother Charles (Charlene) Cole and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Patty (Don) Reed, and infant brother Jimmy Cole. 

   Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10^th at 1 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  A luncheon will follow the service at the Presbyterian Church in Elk Rapids, 404 Spruce St., Elk Rapids, MI 49629.  Spring interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elk Rapids.  Memorial contributions can be made to the family to help with expenses.
