Jason A. Craig

Jason Ashley Craig, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away in his home on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, after an accidental fall. He was 46 years old. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, on February 23, 1978, to Ann O’Malley Craig (deceased) and Jack Eugene Craig, Jason grew up in Princeton, NJ, eventually moving with his family to Atlanta in 1991. He graduated from The Lovett School in 1996, then attended Boston University. An avid traveler, he studied abroad at The Catholic Institute in Paris where he was student body president, as well as the University of Salamanca in Spain the following year. He studied history for a summer at The American College, Dublin, then finally completed his studies at The Harvard Business School in 2019.

In 2003, during a chance encounter at McDuff’s Irish Pub in Buckhead, GA, Jason met his future wife, Amanda Clower, while out with friends. His easy-going demeanor and loving personality were just a few of the qualities that made it easy for Amanda to fall in love. In 2007, they moved together to Chicago and quickly set about discovering all their favorite places: Shaw’s for oysters on the halfshell, Lizzie McNeill’s Irish Pub for a pint, and Fox & Obel the corner boutique food market, to name a few. True to his generous personality, and despite the fact that he was highly allergic to dogs, Jason wanted Amanda to have a constant companion as he frequently traveled for work. They joyfully adopted their dog Wrigley, who Amanda would lovingly refer to as their “first born.” Jason and Amanda married in 2010, and were thrilled to welcome their children Jack Ernest in 2019 and Malley Lillian in 2022. His family was everything to Jason, as was family tradition.

Jason began his career in the electrical industry working at Von Roll Isola. He moved to Isovolta in 2008, then joined Craig Wire Products in 2010. His career path followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Paul W. O’Malley, who was president of Essex Wire Corporation, and his father, Jack Craig, president of Craig Wire Products. Jason had a 22-year career in the industry, where his last position was VP of Business Development at CWP, working alongside his father.

A lover of music, Jason was the 1st violinist for the student orchestra at Lovett. An avid sports fan, he loved watching football and the NBA, and he enjoyed traveling and playing golf with his dad. He played the guitar, spoke three languages, was an accomplished sailor, golfer, tennis player, snow skier, and was a master at maneuvering the motor boat. He was a lover of fine art, museums, travel, food, and culture. One might say he was a modern-day Renaissance man.

Jason will be most remembered for his easy-going nature, and love for friends and family. When you spoke with Jason, you felt as though you were the only one on Earth. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Of all the things Jason excelled at, his constant pleasure was to take the boat out. Time on the water was a must, rain or shine. As such, his final resting place will be next to his mother, overlooking Lake Michigan.

Jason is survived by his wife Amanda Craig, their son Jack (5), their daughter Malley (3), his father Jack Craig, sister Jacqueline Craig (Fletcher), and nephews Everett (5) and Finlay (3).

A celebration of life will be held in Jason’s honor on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, 2:00PM, Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30305, with Dr. Chuck Roberts officiating. A wake will immediately follow at Cherokee Country Club, 155 West Paces Ferry Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30305.
