Janice M. Lockery, 76, of Mancelona, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Janice was born on February 27, 1936 in Owosso, Michigan, the daughter of James and Sylvia Rathbun. In 1998, Janice moved from Arkansas to Mancelona and resided in the area ever since. She owned and operated Grace Home for terminally ill children. Most of all, her pride and joy was her family. She is survived by seven children, Rhonda (Frank) Whitcomb of Massachusetts, Connie (David) Boughner of Johannesburg, Bryon (Angie) Kimbler of Indian River, Teri (Paul) Wilson of Gregory, Robin (Earl) Worth of Greenway, AK., Rebecca (Robert) Kincaid of Pinckney, Troy (Eunice) Kimbler of Mancelona; sisters, Patsy Wood, Barbara Wilks and Ruthann Markham all of Mancelona; many special and loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Kimbler in 1991; second husband, Lewis Lockery in 2011; sister, Joyce Prause; brothers, James Rathbun and Robert Chambers. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. also at the funeral home. The burial will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mancelona Senior Center, PO Box 878, Mancelona, MI 49659 or to Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation, 210 Beaumont Place, Traverse City, MI 49684.
