Janice Buffman

JANICE BUFFMAN, 63, of Central Lake, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Jan was born on October 23, 1947 in Central Lake, the daughter of Lynn and Suzanne (Purdy) Gibbard. Jan was a devoted mother, wife and friend to many and always put others first. Jan was a lifelong resident of Central Lake and graduated from Central Lake High School. She was a hard worker and was a beautician for many years, sewed for Second Chance Body Armor and assisted in running Buffman and Sons Excavating. Jan loved her animals and enjoyed cooking for her many family and friends. On August 24, 1968, in Central Lake, she married Gary Buffman who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Tim (Teressa Potter) Buffman of Central Lake, Luke (Jen) Buffman of Central Lake, 5 grandchildren, Dylan Buffman, Delaney Buffman, Trevor Buffman, Trenton Potter, Daniel Jimenez, a brother Michael Gibbard of Central Lake, a sister Nancy Sulz of Central Lake, her mother-in-law Marcella Buffman of Central Lake, several nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law Howard Buffman. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Russell Tharp will officiate. Interment will take place in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township. Visitation will take place on Monday from 5-8 p.m. also at the funeral home.
