Janet Sapatka

Janet Mary (Crump) Sapatka, passed away quietly on April 20, 2025, at the age of 86. Janet was born August 11, 1938, one minute ahead of her twin sister Susan.

Proud parents Randall and Lillian Crump lived in Royal Oak, MI, at the time. After moving to Charlevoix in 1948, she graduated from CHS in 1956. Janet attended Davenport College in Grand Rapids for 2 years before marrying Ted Potter in 1958. They had 4 children, Debra, 1961, Kevin, 1964, Keith, 1966, and Jacquelyn, 1969.

Janet loved being an at-home mother, but eventually took the receptionist position at Hoskins manufacturing, working there from 1971 to 1983. She loved her bridal shop work, between 1983-1995. Janet moved to Cadillac to marry Delbert Sapatka in 1987, where she lived until 2004. Janet then retired back to Charlevoix after Delbert passed away in 2004.

She is survived by her two sisters, Joane Grubaugh, Susan Barnett, four children,  Debra (Jim), Kevin (Susan) Keith (Kirsten), Jackie, nine grandchildren, and two great-grand children, many nieces and nephews.
