Janet Jones

Janet L. Jones, 74, of Mancelona, passed away on September 20, 2015 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Janet was born on April 7, 1941, the daughter of Ernest and Dorothy (Meeker) Anderson. Janet had been a resident of Mancelona for the past 18 years after living for many years in Flushing. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, flower gardening, baking, cooking, fishing, going on cruises and doing things with her family, especially her best friend and husband Howard. On July 16, 1960, in Millington, MI, she married Howard Jones who survives. Also surviving is a daughter Anna (Dennis) Diehl of Davison, her mother Dorothy Anderson-Troyer of Bellaire, 5 grandchildren, Erika Diehl (Jason), Heather Atkins, Matthew Jones, Christopher Jones, Trevor Jones, Mike Diehl and family, Todd Diehl and family 3 great-grandchildren, Leyna, Ella, Shawn and many nieces and nephews as well as friends. She was preceded in death by her father, a daughter Tina Jones, son Doug Jones, 3 brothers, Dick, Eddie and John Anderson. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 23 from 5-7 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will also take place Saturday, September 26, from 11 am to 12:30 pm with the funeral service at 12:30 pm, at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home in Otisville, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
