Jana Lanning

Jana Lanning, 59, of Mancelona passed away peacefully in her home on May 26, 2020. She was born July 29, 1960, the daughter of William and Norma Summerfield. She is survived by many who loved her generous nature and courageous spirit, including her husband of 39 years, Brad; children and their partners, Seth and Morgan, Laurelin and Chris, and Marissa and Jarred; and granddaughter, Sylvia.

Jana was passionate about nature and could often be found outside gardening, rock hunting, hiking or simply listening to the spring peepers. She was a strong proponent of education and dedicated much of her life to working with children. She was also a gifted quilter who could turn even the gaudiest fabrics into a true work of art. True to her generous nature, she donated many quilts to charity. A devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and an amazing cook, Jana will be greatly missed by any who were lucky enough to know her (or taste her cooking)!

Jana’s service will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to AC PAW.
