James Wilson

James O. Wilson, passed away Aug. 26, 2013 at his home on Eckhardt Road, surrounded by family and his beloved pet Cindi. He was born Jan. 2, 1926 in Chestonia Twp. to Roy and Blanche (Holden) Wilson. Jim resided in Bellaire all of his life. He farmed and worked hard all of his life. Most of his working life was spent at Lamina of Bellaire where Jim worked 38 years until retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Antrim Church of Christ. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and family vacations. He also enjoyed weekend trips to Cedarville with his grandchildren and long rides thru the Jordan Valley. Jim has always been known as a man of his word and will be sadly missed by many. On Sept. 16, 1944 in Bellaire, Jim married Marion Miller and they have enjoyed 68 years together. Jim and Marion had three children, Janet Rathbun, of East Jordan, Shirley (Don) Crocker of Petoskey and son Robert Wilson who preceded him in death in 2005. His loving grandchildren are Jim (Annette) Rathbun of East Jordan, Michelle (Aaron) Cantrell of Lincoln, IL, Warren (Trista) Keller of Alanson, Becky (Mike) Griffes of Alanson, and Kimberly Carr of Orlando, FL who preceded him in 2009. He has 10 great grandchildren and his special pet "Cindi". He is also survived by brother Walter Wilson and sister Lena Snodgrass. Jim was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters and one son inlaw. Funeral services will be held Thurs., Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Mark McCool officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire. The family will receive friends Wed. Aug. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Antrim Church of Christ.
