James Desy Marsh, III, 31, of Charlevoix, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016. He was born September 7, 1984, in Petoskey to James Desy Marsh, II, and Debra Lynn (Lenhart) Marsh. Jim grew up in Charlevoix, and attended Charlevoix High School.
Everyone who met Jimmy was instantly touched by his warm laugh, smile, and the effortless way he brought joy to all those around him. While he had many passions in life, the most prominent was the love he had for his son, Tanner, whom he valued above all else. In addition to being a loving father, Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman; if given the choice between sleeping on a Serta mattress or in a hammock, he would choose the hammock every time. His hobbies included longboarding, disc golfing, snowboarding, fishing, camping, music festivals, and enjoying everything the outdoors of northern Michigan had to offer. He also had a love and respect for animals and music, and you could often find him strumming a guitar. Jimmy most recently operated his own drywall business, Marsh Drywall.
He is survived by his son, Tanner Langley; parents, Debra L. Marsh of Petoskey, James (Fran) Marsh of Charlevoix; brother, Andrew (April) Marsh of Interlochen; sisters, Tara Marsh of Bay Shore, Ashley Darrah of Petoskey; maternal grandparents, Robert and Bonnie Lenhart of Charlevoix; paternal grandmother, Mary Marsh of Charlevoix; many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, Monday, July 11, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix. Funeral mass will be 10 am, Tuesday, July 12, at Saint Mary's Church in Charlevoix.
