James R. Kresnak, 29, of Coldsprings Township, Kalkaska County, passed away on June 29, 2016. James was born on November 14, 1986, in Traverse City, the son of Steven Kresnak and Rhonda Scholl. James was a 2005 graduate of Mancelona High School and was employed by Shanty Creek Resort for many years. He enjoyed snowmobiling, snowboarding, target shooting, video games and boating. He is survived by his father, Steven (Gloria) Kresnak of Paranglumba, Philippines, mother Rhonda (Chuck) Mielke of Arizona, a brother Robert (Justine) Kresnak of Taylor, MI, two nephews, Zaidan and August, sister Keisha Moore, brothers David Colbath and Elijah Mielke, three aunts, Martha (Jerry) Richardson, Hilda (Thomas) Standley, Jacqueline (Leathel) McCarty, two uncles, Jeffrey Scholl and Randy (Jerri)Scholl. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Paul and Thelma Kresnak, maternal grandparents, August and Betty Scholl and brother Christopher Stone. A brief celebration of his life will take place on Friday, July 8, 12:00 noon at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of celebration.
